Rewind>>>Bragg Matters

Peace,

With allergy season going down (i)fficially, the body is in transition. This morning I had an upset stomach and was really groggy. What to do, what to do. Ahh!!! Bragg!!!!

It is my pleasure to educate you on the many health benefits surrounding Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). This is one of those remedies that is absolutely outstanding. It packs such a powerful punch (bitter if you ask me, wink) with it's long list of uses. From an aid to weigh loss, to relieving the most intense hear burn, this truly is a "cure all".

In all the the medical break troughs we have had here in America, I don't understand why we are leaving behind age old remedies like ACV. There are many beneficial herbs, plants, and ingredients that we leave out because a "pill" that is new to the market cures what ales you. Now I don't know about you, but I feel more comfortable with things that have been around for centuries(5,000 years to be exact), used before any pharmaceutical companies existed. These things, I believe should be the foundation of our medicine chest. I am not opposed to taking medicine when medically necessary, but I think some of us innocently enough, reach for a prescription before we reach for and old fashioned remedy.

I have read many testimonials on the positive health effects of ACV. Remember these testimonials have nothing to do with one brand or another, but they all have one thing in common. The ACV used is not the typical translucent orange ACV on your grocery store shelf. It's organic, raw unfiltered ACV. Which means it is not pasteurized and has "the mother"(a cloudy mass) settling on the top and bottom oft he bottle.

There are hundreds of uses for vinegar. It is basically an alcoholic liquid that is allowed to ferment or sour. It doesn't sound beautiful but besides it's uses in cooking and cleaning, it has quite a few topical beauty applications.

The first beauty application I had ever tried with vinegar was to put it on my hair. It is a great rinse to remove alkaline build up left by shampoos on your hair. It also helps combat dandruff. You might want to try an apple cider vinegar application because the aroma is a bit more pleasant.

Vinegar can be used as a corn or callus remover. It is suggested to soak a piece of stale bread in the vinegar and place it over the necessary area on your foot overnight. I don't know about you, but sleeping with a piece of bread on your foot! No thank you. I'd try a piece of cloth or maybe a sock instead.

Fading age spots with vinegar and onion juice, mix equal parts. This can take a few weeks for any significant visual change. You might also try this on body freckles but do not apply to the face. There are a lot of over the counter products that are more expensive than this concoction, but none as fragrant.

Applying vinegar to the necessary areas of your legs can reduce varicose vein pain and swelling. I guess enough pain could get me to try it. I am just not sure about the smell for a prolonged period of time. I don't think I'd try it on a day I was going to leave the house! Since it works on pain, soaking in a tub with warm water and vinegar will help ease sore muscles.

Soak your feet in it or splash it on your feet in the shower. It will help diminish foot odor, which is caused by bacteria. I have heard it also works on athletes' foot.

Are your hand is water a lot? That can dry them out. Dipping them in vinegar or misting your skin and then drying them, will help keep moisture in. Seems like it would work on all parts of your body.

Sensitive skin can benefit from full strength white vinegar being applied after shaving. Especially if you are prone to itching and rashes when using commercial after shave lotions.

Peace, B well!!!

ACV is the best! Glad u posted this. It's also good for:

1) food poisoning if taken within a couple of hours of eating the offending food (and stomach viruses)

2)all types of internal infections
