LABELS, LABELS, LABELS....

True, none of us work for the FDA but, common sense is one of those things that most folks are born with, right? Please, when grocery shopping take the time to read the ingredients of the items that you are purchasing. I say this because I know so many folks that suffer from different ailments and are sometimes oblivious to where they come from. Any health problem that we have comes from the quality of foods that we are eating and the quality of life that we are living. It takes a second, if the the ingredients sound too complicated then you probably shouldn't be eating them. Ingredients like: Enriched flours, MSG, corn syrups, and the good old red, blue, and yellow # dyes, should be avoided at all costs. They are chemically altered preservatives which contribute to stagnation in our bodies, on a number of levels. I am aware, that now that trip to the Bodega will suck but, just think about how your body will benefit or do what I do, just buy plantain chips, LOL. The unfortunate thing, is that these ingredients are in most products that we eat everyday. "Enriched flours" are in just about every box of cereal, pasta, flour, and loaf of bread that we eat.
-- How to read labels

The term "enriched" sounds wholesome but, it actually refers to a process where our whole grains are stripped of much needed nutrients, bleached in some cases and "enriched" with preservatives. The way to combat this is simple, read labels and purchase whole grain, cereals, breads, and pastas. Abstain from white foods ( yes, this includes sugar), they have no nutritional value. Its not white when it comes out of the ground or off the tree. You should be able to look at your foods and connect it to its origins in nature somehow. Its about establishing a new awareness in reference to where your foods come from. Try to buy organic produce whenever possible. I know it can get expensive so, check your local farmer's markets as well. For your meats, dairy and eggs, support farm raised and hormone free products. Check your local supermarkets, they are adding healthier alternatives all the time..Be good to yourself...Peace

Neede this)if this lecture shows anything it is not that there is to much fat in a product, rather that the rest of the product doesnt contain much calories. He is right about that, but then twists it to make a nonpoint.. if they put 50% sugar in it then percentage calories from fat would go down rapidly.. would that be better?

I don't believe in meat eating or vegetarianism completely. What matters is to stay away from any man-made food and only eat natural food. You can never go wrong with that. Try to choose natural organic food if you can. Organic grass-fed beef is one of the best meat you can get.
