Shoe Digs: Melissa Campana
Not a big fan of the Van's slip-on and no offense to those who just keep buying them over and over again. If you like it, then I love it, you know. These came out a couple of season's back and I first saw them at this spot in NYC called Opening Ceremony, they are a one stop shop for up and coming designers, they also carry their own line. They are no longer available but, you may luck out and find them somewhere really random. If you are ever in the Soho area, go check them out. They are on Howard street, right off of Broadway. The designer is Melissa Campana and they have chosen plastic as their medium, kind of an ill homage to the gelly sandal that most of us had when we were little girls. They have a host of footwear and bags to choose from. This style is reminiscent of the Van's slip-on in silhouette but, that's about it, these were good ones. What I wouldn't give to run into these somewhere on my travels in the same color. (We give words power, so u never know?) Bless...
