The Funkees

Peace. The Funkees are a dope group from Nigeria who's albums are difficult, but not impossible to find. They released a string of singles on the Nigerian HMV/EMI label before cutting their debut album "Point of No Return" in 1974.

The first song/video, "Akula Owu Onyeara" is about a madman & his eccentricities (1973). The title means "don't beat the madman." The Funkees have been getting a lot of spins on my turntable since I got some of their stuff earlier this year. Would recommend if you can find.
