Ski feat Mos Def - Taxi preview

I'm not as excited abt the BlakRoc project as everyone else seems to be (people keep emailing links, videos, etc. abt it). But I do like videos like this where you get to see little pieces of the creative process. And I really love when Mos does these relaxed stream of consciousness yet subject-driven type rhymes. They always turn out so pensively beautiful and ironic unlike what you get from most rap (the type of stuff that sounds good, but also looks lovely on the page). Anyway, this subject matter reminds me of the lesser-known 'U R the One'. Clearly he has relationship issues (seems he's always discussing wars of the hearts) but his willingness to expose these in his rhymes, and his honesty generally, is what I think separates him from most. I had to listen a couple of times to catch all of the lyrical gifts in this . . .
