Practical Magic::What Candles and their Colors Truly Signify

Bless...Hope all is love...I'm sure that all of us, at one time or another have purchased and burned 7-day novena candles (the ones in the tall plain glass that come in several color ways and are usually available at your neighborhood bodega or botanica, for no more than $2). The word "novena" means new beginning in Latin, which references the newness that each color gives way to, no matter what your prayer or request may be. One ritual is to write your desire or prayer 9x on a piece of paper and tape it to the candle bottom before burning, or at least place it under the candle, operating from the cleanest and purest place possible, then just let the candle burn out. Most folks choose their candles based on whatever colors they are drawn to at the time or by knowing basic meanings of say, a white, green, red, or pink one. Either way, its just good to know, with each color, we evoke a different vibration, tone, and meditation. Delight in the night...Be kind to a stranger...And stay warm...Blessedluv....

Black
Absorbs and removes anything, reversing, uncrossing, binding negative forces, protection, releasing, breaks up blockages, and unsticks stagnant situations. The uses of this color depend upon the hue. Light blue: is for truth, inspiration, wisdom, protection, understanding, good health, happiness, inner peace, fidelity, patience, harmony in the home, and connecting with your higher self. Brown
This color can attract money and financial success. It is also helpful for concentration, balance, intuition. This is very powerful when used in times of a financial crisis.

Gold
Gold helps with great fortune, intuition, understanding, divination, fast luck, higher influences, knowledge, healing, and joy

Green
This color is associated with abundance, fertility, good fortune, generosity, wealth, success, renewal, marriage, balance, healing, and communication with nature. It can also help give a fresh outlook on life or bring balance to an unstable situation.
