THE BASIC Homemade Recipe

20 drops Eucalyptus oil
20 drops Cedarwood oil
10 drops Tea Tree oil
10 drops Geranium oil
2 oz. carrier oil ( such as Jojoba )

Mix together in a 4 oz. container. Apply to skin as needed avoiding the eye area. Keep out of reach of children. Test on a small area of skin for sensitivities . Experiment with different percentages of essential oil.

Place ingredients in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake vigorously. Transfer to small bottles for storage. To use, rub a small amount on any exposed skin (test first to be sure your skin will not be adversely affected by the repellent) or dab it on clothing.

Experiment a little to find which essential oils work best with your body chemistry. If you’re lucky, you also will like the way they smell; otherwise, add a few drops of peppermint oil to fine-tune the fragrance.

While it is important to minimize the risk of being bitten, many commercial products contain dangerous and toxic chemicals such as DEET. It can damage nerve and cause dangerous side effects. The same thing goes for your home garden.

Good read. Do you all know of DEET free brands that I can buy. Or is it best to just make it from scratch. I heard wintergreen is a good bug controller too. 1 love!

how bad would it injure somebody if you sprayed this stuff in somebody's eyes? cause then you could make your own home made pepper spray to protect yourself. Y'all should have manufacture some stuff and have an organic self-protection product. Sell it at whole foods.
