Most cities with House music have special parties that sets itself apart from other parties; not trying to be the biggest party but a meeting place for the soul-centric and musically divervse. A place where the vibe felt like you were getting a hug when you attended. Baltimore had the "Soul Fiesta", Philly had "Afrorikan Vybe", "Dance Ritual"(ny), "Libation" w/Ian Friday(ny), "Jump-n-Funk"(ny), and many more. More recently DC's "Common Ground" and "Afrobeat 4 Ya Soul" parties. This month's Common Ground party brings elements of some of these gatherings together for a massive global soul party.
