:::SUNO NY:::

Bless...Hope the Sun has been good to everyone. Its crazy how trends go, its so "Africa Hot" right now, just everywhere...LOL... Far from hating, I embrace all mediums that assist in bringing long overdue exposure to the diaspora. We know the real though, and Africa has always been "Hot", dope, and all the like.
One of my favorite eras in reference to textiles and silhouettes, would have to be Africa and the Caribbean in the 60's and 70's. Through beautiful tailoring, one could experience the culture from a completely different perspective. The juxtaposition and sculpture that lived in the clothes, was just dope. That's why thrifting is so rewarding, to find a piece from that time is always a pleasure and a treasure. So fast forward to this moment in time, where there are a plethora of designers that are inspired by this very movement. Max Osterweis of Suno NY draws his inspiration from the turmoil, politics, and people of Kenya. I think our clothes should be festive and just beautiful to look at. (check www.sunony.com ) Delight and Enjoy..Peace....
