New Mixtape::: AFℝICA ☗FRICA இFRICA 3

►The debut of this mixtape was the spark of a new style of African based sonics and a new movement into the realm of afrobeat. "Its about the progression of the dance". There is no sonic comparison to these mixes. There are so many elements fused between the notes. This release signifies the next step in the evolution. As the groove continues, watch this space, and bring a change of clothes.

►The LunchBox Theory crew seems to be well in control of their creative destiny and critical of the colonial mentality that pervades radio and record companies. Music is deeper than philosophy. In the end, we don't have a language or linguistic eloquence that is truthful to describe the short time we are here on earth. Therefore we need sounds that get to the deeper truths of who we are as humans.

►All new tunes, all new furniture!

Introducting Blitz the Ambassador…

Some artists stretch the boundaries of musical genres, while others completely break the mold. To anyone who has heard Blitz the Ambassador’s musical arrangements and unique lyrical perspective, he clearly represents the later. The leader of a new musical movement, blending distinctly African sounds, such as Highlife and Afrobeat, with the boom-bap of classic Hip Hop, Blitz the Ambassador is not only transforming the musical landscape, he’s also bringing a new voice to the world.

Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Blitz the Ambassador grew up around diverse sounds, from Jazz, to Motown, to Highlife. But when his older brother introduced him to Public Enemy’s classic album, It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, as a young boy, his perspective changed forever. “I had never heard young Black people express themselves in that way before,” recalls Blitz.

A producer, composer, percussionist, visual artist, and lyricist, Blitz truly stretches the definition of the word artist. With his brass heavy band, The Embassy Ensemble, providing the unmistakable sonic backbone, Blitz has begun to make his case as one of the most talented artists of our time.

FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT WONDER>>>

Prepare for the Super Harvest Moon! For the first time in two decades, the Sun will sink as the full Moon rises exactly opposite to it on the day the summer ends, creating in a strange 360-degree twilight show.

If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, today is the autumnal equinox and a Super Harvest Moon will cross the sky after almost 20 years since the last time it happened. When the Sun starts to set on the Western horizon, a full moon will rise opposite to it on the East, reflecting the light of our home star.

Being close to the horizon, the orange Moon will be gigantic thanks to a psychological effect called the Moon illusion. The sky will be illuminated by the Sun and the Moon at the same time, creating a weird 360-degree effect that is rarely seen.

You don't need to do anything special to enjoy the show, just get ready for the sunset. Make sure to have a clear view to both East and West.

In NYC, the event will happen at 6:54pm. You can check the time in your city here.

And as an added bonus, when the summer ends at 11:09pm Eastern Time, Jupiter will appear right next to the Moon.

The Sounds of VTech / bilal_isthislove_web

Qouted and written by VTECH::::

"On August 30th, 2010, a very special rendition of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love” was recorded in Los Angeles.

It was a very special day. Perfect weather, a studio reminiscent of a studio in Capitol Records during the 60’s, a great cast of musicians… the stars aligned and this video was made.

Plug Research approached Bilal and Miguel separately with the idea of doing cover songs. Since they’re both friends and admire one another’s work, (Bilal performed at Timeless: Suite for MaDukes), it was a easy match.

It was Bilal’s idea to work on “Is This Love.” Miguel booked the talented cast of musicians, many he had worked with before, and wrote the basic charts. Bilal made sure to get the sound he was looking for.

A couple of songs were recorded during this session… So if you’re interested to hear how Bilal’s renditions of Soft Cells “Tainted Love” turned out, or even Portisheads “Strangers”… well you’ll just have to check back. But for now, enjoy Bilal’s rendition of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love.”

Airtight’s Revenge on Plug Research is Bilal’s first album in 9 years. Make sure to get a copy of it by clicking HERE.

Understanding Behavioral Patterns: Why Bird Flocks Move in Unison

ScienceDaily (Sep. 16, 2010) — Animal flocks, be it honeybees, fish, ants or birds, often move in surprising synchronicity and seemingly make unanimous decisions at a moment's notice, a phenomenon which has remained puzzling to many researchers.

New research published September 15, in New Journal of Physics, uses a particle model to explain the collective decision making process of flocks of birds landing on foraging flights.

Using a simple self-propelled particle (SPP) system, which sees the birds represented by particles with such parameters as position and velocity, the researchers from Budapest, Hungary, find that the collective switching from the flying to the landing state overrides the individual landing intentions of each bird.

In the absence of a decision making leader, the collective shift to land is heavily influenced by perturbations the individual birds are subject to, such as the birds' flying position within the flock. This can be compared to an avalanche of piled up sand, which would occur even for perfectly symmetric and cautiously placed grains, but in reality happens much sooner because of increasing, non-linear fluctuations.

As the researchers explain, "Our main motivation was to better understand something which is puzzling and out there in nature, especially in cases involving the stopping or starting of a collective behavioural pattern in a group of people or animals.

"We propose a simple model for a system whose members have the tendency to follow the others both in space and in their state of mind concerning a decision about stopping an activity. This is a very general model, which can be applied to similar situations."

Possible applications include collectively flying, unmanned aerial vehicles, initiating a desired motion pattern in crowds or groups of animals and even finance, where the results could be used to interpret collective effects on selling or buying shares on the stock market.

HAIRSKINANDNAILS :::: Be Loved iN Return:::SUpport the things that suPport yOu >>>

http://alkek.library.txstate.edu/swwc/wg/exhibits/Iturbide/images/tonala81.jpg

Externally using coconut oil for hair certainly has its benefits. But don't forget its internal application. Genes, stress, illness, malnutrition, medication, hormonal imbalance, etc. all have something to say about your hair's well-being.

Cooking with coconut oil is one easy way of maintaining good overall health including your hair. The antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic blessings of this humble oil can assist tremendously in giving your hair full body and radiance.

Did you know that a poor thyroid function can have a profound impact on your hair? Very few people know that thyroid disease often manifests first in the condition of the hair. A coconut oil diet can promote normal thyroid gland activity such as controlling how your body makes protein necessary for hair roots.

CNO also reduces your need for Vitamin E which helps keep proper blood circulation towards your scalp. It also assists in making sure your follicle cells receive enough oxygen for growth.

Don't forget that scalp skin is just like the rest of your skin. For this reason, coconut oil uses for skin are just as remarkable.

As mentioned above, your hair situation is very much linked to your general well-being. Any deficiency in your body typically manifests itself first in your hair. When your body is under some sort of pressure, it re-prioritizes its processes. Your vital organs are attended to first which could starve your hair follicles of oxygenated blood.

Hair Facts

Your head has about 100,000 hair follicles. Each follicle can grow about 20 individual hairs in your lifetime. Your hair grows at an average rate of half an inch per month and falls off at around 100 strands per day.

You need to understand that the condition of your hair is dependent on your overall health. No shampoo, conditioner, lotion, cream, spray, foam or whatever, can single-handedly give you enduring healthy hair. The positive effects derived from each of these methods are extremely temporary or short-term at best.

True healthy hair begins at underneath the surface of your scalp. The living part of your hair is in the hair follicle. Blood carries nutrients through arteries connected to your hair follicles. Poor eating habits and stress to name a couple can deprive your hair of sufficient nourishment making it dry and dull.

Taking care of your hair is much more than skin deep. You must approach hair care from within. Coconut oil and hair growth goes hand-in-hand and is safe and chemical-free. It replaces the natural oils your hair looses on a regular basis.

The protective environment of the skin and how coconut oil helps

Antiseptic fatty acids in coconut oil help to prevent fungal and bacterial infections in the skin when it is consumed and to some extent, when it is applied directly to the skin. The only way to gain entry into the body other than through the natural openings, such as the nose and mouth, is by penetrating the skin. When the skin's defenses break down, infections can result. Acne, ringworm, herpes, boils, athlete's foot, and warts are just some of the infectious conditions that can affect the skin and body.

The biggest chemical barrier to infectious organisms is the acid layer on the skin. Healthy skin has a pH of about 5, making it slightly acidic. Our sweat (containing uric and lactic acids) and body oils promote this acidic environment. For this reason, sweat and oil do us good. Harmless bacteria can tolerate the acid and live on the skin, but troublesome bacteria can't thrive and their numbers are few.

The oil our bodies produce is called sebum. Sebum is secreted by oil glands (sebaceous glands) located at the root of every hair as well as other places. This oil is very important to skin health. It softens and lubricates the skin and hair and prevents the skin from drying and cracking. Sebum also contains medium chain fatty acids, in the form of medium chain triglycerides, that can be released to fight harmful germs.

Our skin is home to many tiny organisms, most of which are harmless; some are beneficial. At least one variety of bacterium is essential to the healthy environment on our skin. It feeds on the sebum, breaking down the tryglycerides into free fatty acids. The bacteria actually feed on the glycerol part of the triglyceride. This leaves fatty acids which are now "freed" from the glycerol unit that held them together. Medium chain fatty acids which are bound to the glycerol unit as they are in coconut oil have no antimicrobial properties. However, when they are broken apart into free fatty acids, they become powerful antimicrobials.

So these bacteria convert the medium chain triglycerides (in the sebum or on the skin) into free fatty acids that can kill disease-causing bacteria, viruses, and fungi. The combination of the slightly acid pH and medium chain fatty acids provides a protective chemical layer on the skin that prevents infection from disease-causing organisms. Due primarily to the action of bacteria, the oil on the surface of your skin and hair is composed of between 40 and 60 percent free fatty acids. The medium chain fatty acids in the sebum provide the protective layer on the skin that kills harmful germs. Coconut oil is nature's richest source of medium chain fatty acids.

ROX – ROCKSTEADY (ACCOUSTIC LIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO)

◥◥◥◥◥◥PART 1 ::HERB COMBINATIONS THAT MATTER & REALLY WORK::::THURSDAY!!!

Now its time to get serious. Well and Good aka "Be Well" blog will start to take the guesswork out of Herb combining for you and show you the most effective treatments for any ailments you are having from allergies to thyroid issues. As time goes, experimentation is needed to figure out what works best for you. Some will work fast and some will flow slow.

Today, Thursday, we'll start with 1 basic energy combination!

Things to avoid: Coffee, Salt, Sugar, Alcohol. Avoid cooked food in general, especially breads, pastries, flour products, meats, processed, preserved, pickled and frozen foods...ie: avoid all foods that are not raw as much as possible. Foods dehydrated or warm to around 110¡F are better, for this preserves the enzymes.

Things To Adopt: GREEN! GREEN! GREEN! Green leafy vegetables and cabbage. Cabbage is so affective I would recommend daily carrot/cabbage/celery juices with wheat grass. Dandelion greens are as potent as cabbage and can be incorporated in carrot juice. The word on the street is, "if it taste nasty, it most likely is good for you"!

◣◣ENERGIZERS◣◣

Wheatgrass juice gives the most immediate pick-me-up. Spirulina (bluegreen algae) gives substantial energy and is a complete food. Kelp provides the iodine to fire up the thyroid and metabolism. Green tea or yerba mate is good for energy also and it is not over stimulating like coffee.
Nori rolls are perhaps the most energizing high enzyme food there is: grind up slightly sprouted “hulled” sunflower or buckwheat seeds, add tahini, garlic, miso, Tom Yum Thai paste, lemon juice and mix this into a paste. Then put several tablespoons of this onto a nori sheet and cover with tomatoes, avocado, cilantro and cucumber, then roll up.

Some herbs act as catalyst when combined which encourage other herbs to work more effectively.

◥◥◥◥HERE IS HOW WE COMBINE in Our Tea!!!!

Specific Conditions: Fatigue- General, Endurance - lack of, Energy Lack of

This combo was put together by master herbalist Joan Vandergriff. The herbs in this combination extend cell life and feed adrenals and boost immune system response. Tea is recommend for maximum absorption.

Used for centuries by the Ojibwa, the herbal remedy contains burdock root, sheep sorrel herb, slippery elm bark, watercress herb, Turkish rhubarb root, kelp, blessed thistle herb and red clover blossom. It cleanses the body of harmful toxins and free radicals. The combination of the active components work together to remove toxins and wastes from the body right down to the cellular level.
One of the centre's medical doctors, Teresa Clarke, commented that many of the Centre's patients are using Flor•Essence and incorporating it into their healing/recovery program because of its record of safety and potential benefits. A study conducted by the University of British Columbia found Flor•Essence to possess powerful anti-oxidant properties. For example, one molecule of vitamin C or vitamin E destroys one free radical, whereas one molecule of Flor•Essence destroys 14 free radicals.
Clinical research from the Russian Ministry of Health revealed Flor•Essence helps boost the immune system, balance critical hormones and blood sugar levels as well as being an effective treatment for chronic gastrointestinal ailments. Herbal medicinal tea is still used by 80 percent of the world's population, serving as its primary form of health care. In Germany, medicinal teas require a prescription and in China they are frequently given alongside prescription drugs.

Certified::::::::::::::The Lijadu Sisters

There is much to love about the Lijadu Sisters, identical twins of entirely self-determined nature who sing like birds, albeit carnivorous birds with roomy lungs. The sisters raised a brood of four kids, none of whom allegedly knew which Lijadu sister, either Kehinde or Taiwo, was their respective mom. The Lijadu Sisters seemed to be well in control of their professional destiny and critical of the colonial mentality that pervaded Nigerian record companies. They also had little patience for the male chauvinism that was seemingly part of the furniture in their native Nigeria.
