Super Food Series: Hemp Seeds and Oil

Hemp contains a perfect balance of omega and gamma fatty acids which, protect our bodies from degenerative diseases and boost our brain power. It also help us to maintain energy, insulate our body, and protect tissue and organs. Hemp has been used for thousands of years as a valuable resource of edible seeds and oil, as a medicine and as fiber for clothes and rope. Its popularity is rising again as people learn about its rich nutritional properties. Research shows that hemp oil has anti-inflammatory properties, so its useful as a topical first aid for wounds and burns. It stimulates the growth and health of skin, hair, and nails. It is not the best oil to cook with, it should be consumed in its raw state. Heating it above 120 degrees will damage a lot of its healing properties. Hemp oil has a distinct nutty flavor that would be a perfect addition to salads, veggies, grains, blended into smoothies, etc. Keep it refrigerated and make sure that it is unrefined and unfumigated. For those who are wondering, hemp products will not alter your state of consciousness, it only contains trace amounts of THC. Canada passed an Industrial Hemp Act in 1998 so that it could be used for its nutritional benefits. So, eat as much as you want. LOL...Feel good and Be Well
